ENDODONTIC TREATMENT FAQ

What Is Endodontics?

Any treatment of the pulp and tissues of the teeth is known as endodontics. The most well-known of all endodontic treatments is the root canal. This is the treatment of the portion of your tooth that’s hidden below the gum line. What’s below the gum line is the pulp, which includes soft tissue, blood vessels, and nerves. The problem that this region of your tooth can run into is when bacteria makes their way into the pulp. Bacteria will damage the pulp, threatening the health of the tooth.

When the pulp of your tooth is threatened and becoming harmed by bacteria, a dentist will have to remove the diseased pulp, saving the tooth and preventing the spread of infection. Your teeth can become infected as a result of tooth decay, periodontal disease, and tooth fractures. Fortunately, Southeastern Dental Specialists can save your teeth with a root canal treatment.

What Happens Post-Treatment?

Your tooth will have to be restored once root canal treatment is completed. You’ll have to reach out to a restorative dentist and work with him or her to do what’s necessary to protect your tooth. We can send all the information and records of your root canal to your restorative dentist.
